Conflict zone pc game download

However, that's not the only selling point of the game: the developer seems very excited about its newly created intelligence system, DirectlA Intelligent Adaptation. This is apparently markedly different from normal AI, letting the game evolve and adapt to your playing needs.

As you play a mission, different commanders under your control will learn how you play and adopt your style for you. Which hopefully means you can leave them to get on with things and not have to go back and check on them every six seconds.

In fact, MASA even goes so far as to claim the game can operate autonomously online with your own personality without you ever having to take part. Which gives a whole new meaning to the phrase 'playing the game in your sleep'. Each commander also has a level of charisma, which allows them to gain better or worse control over their troops depending on how they feel.

But it's not just them: all units will have their own personality, being able to perceive danger and make a tactical decision to run from it, instead of standing around gawping like a tourist, or grouping together with similar units in offensive or defensive measures. MASA even goes as far to say that some units are partial to looking out for number one and are willing to fire at their own allies in order to save themselves.

If that doesn't put the icing on the cake, I don't know what does. Of course, the enemy will be able to do exactly the same as you, learning your tactics, anticipating them, then counteracting in a way that seems fit.

It's worth noting that MASA is already incorporating the technology into proper army simulators. So at least we know it has some faith in its designs - unless we start seeing news footage of soldiers walking two miles in the wrong direction in order to get round a tree. Here's hoping it can marry this successfully to the media concept. Hell, killing people always makes good news. Lag becomes an issue with lots of units on the field, and we only tested the game over a network with 2 people - needless to say, this doesn't bode well for larger matches.

While there is a sublime joy in annihilating a real human being for a change, the imbalance of the two sides can quickly put paid to any cross-team fun. Included with the game is a very basic level editor called Edland, featuring all the landscape elements included in the campaign maps.

It's a little fiddly, not entirely helped by some of the instructions still being in French, however, with some time and effort, the dedicated RTS fan could theoretically produce useable and respectable maps. Conflict Zone has some great ideas, but it's such a shame that more wasn't made of them. The AI is intuitive and genuinely intelligent in places, but at other times it can be desperately frustrating.

With such a fuss made of its prowess, having to frequently hold your troops' collective hands to ensure they follow your orders just seems wrong. The game's major innovation centres around the popularity system - including the world media is a novel touch, and could bring a lot of interest to the game. But with such a limited set of means to increase the score, rather than being enjoyable, the process can become repetitive and annoying, especially if you choose to follow the ICP campaign.

Despite all this, the game itself is admirably constructed. The mission structure is progressive and intelligent, and any RTS fan will quickly find themselves engrossed in it.

The problem is that the innovations seem incomplete, and without them, it really is just another RTS. Screenshots from MobyGames. You can just copy the file ijl The game launches but there are only 2 black boxes on the screen while the intro sound plays. Then nothing. How to run this on win10? Had no sucess with dxwnd either, it just seems to be impossible.

The more of those you build and the sooner you fill them, the happier the news reporters will be, as they will have good stories about humanitarian disasters. GHOST does not have to worry about that because it can simply convert most neutral people it gets hold of, and turn them into useful soldiers.

Another novelty is the total lack of Fog of War. There are no dark clouds to cover your vision; instead, the units have their LOS Line Of Sight , which will prevent even you from seeing an enemy unit that is out of your units' LOS even if you as a player can see the terrain it is standing on. There are several special vehicles in the game used primarily for detecting enemy positions. MASA's graphics engine is pretty good. Zooming isn't that smooth, but scrolling works like a charm.

Both the terrain and the 3D units look very realistic. I especially liked the way the bodies start flying around when the going gets tough It reminded me of South Park. The camera can be zoomed in until it seems you are standing in the middle of the battlefield, and zoomed out to above the clouds. Though I had this feeling that something was missing from it. The units do not look as detailed as they did in Ground Control or Earth Their design is simply too rough. On the other hand, their AI is literally brilliant.

The units act in a completely realistic way. For instance, if you send a group of soldiers to attack a tank, and it fires a rocket at them, you can expect to have several dead soldiers, and the rest will probably be stunned with shock. Cute, isn't it? Some things in this game reminded me of Shogun; you control a great number of units, and each unit acts of its own accord. Mass battles are pretty messy and you will probably soon loose any control of your units you can lead more than soldiers, depending on the size of your base.
